It certainly ain't the Sherrington.

If you have ever been to the States, then you will know the budget motel chain, Red Roof. The Ratchaphruek Pavilion Hotel on the very edge of Bangkok was only missing the red roof. The rooms are tastefully decked out in a nice shade of battle ship grey, over stucco walls, with large chunks of veneer curling off the furniture. If you noticed a hint of sarcasm in my musings then you are right, the only redeeming feature was that it was clean. Mrs G and myself ain't wealthy by a long shot and I guess at the end of the day, and by the time we got there it was the end. But as I say, at the end of the day you get what you pay for in this world, and for the one night we were staying in Bangkok this would do. The staff were friendly and helpful, despite them not being able to speak english, Google Tanslate and Google Lens are a travellers best friend, believe me. And like I've said the beds were clean, the air con cold and the shower hot. And after all the delays, we only had time for a shower and a quick meal at the nearest bar. Tiny, by our standards, chicken wings and a delicious home made sweet chilli sauce and fries. Now fed and watered it took all the strength we could muster just to get us in bed.
